What is Grow Into the Sun?
Grow Into the Sun is a creature-evolution game built around one simple rule: consume anything smaller than yourself. You begin as a tiny, hungry creature floating in a pond, but every meal makes you larger.
As your size increases, the world grows with you. Your journey can take you from a tiny droplet and blades of grass to a backyard, street, city, planet, and eventually outer space. The Sun waits at the end of the progression.
Your feeding habits also affect how the creature evolves. Eating living prey or debris, as well as the way you feed, can lead to different mutations. There are 27 unique creatures to discover, with every unlocked form recorded in the bestiary.
How to Play Grow Into the Sun
Guide your creature by moving the cursor or your finger. The creature follows your pointer, and releasing it makes the creature stop.
Look around for anything smaller than you and consume it to increase your mass. The progress bar at the top shows how close you are to reaching the next size. When the bar fills, your creature evolves and the surrounding world changes.
Be careful as you grow. Larger creatures can eat you, while cars, hurricanes, and other machines can crush you. Soldiers and tanks can attack from a distance, and huge objects such as houses, mountains, and glaciers can block your path.
When you need a quick escape, use the spurt ability. It provides a sudden burst of speed, but costs mass, so use it carefully.
Your journey revolves around:
- Consuming objects and creatures smaller than you
- Growing your creature's size and mass
- Reaching new stages of the world
- Discovering different mutations
- Unlocking all 27 creature forms
- Recording discoveries in the bestiary
- Avoiding creatures and environmental threats
- Using spurts when a quick escape is needed
- Reaching outer space and consuming celestial bodies

From a Tiny Creature to the Sun
The scale of Grow Into the Sun keeps changing as your creature grows. What begins as a tiny pond eventually expands into increasingly larger environments, turning familiar surroundings into new feeding grounds and obstacles.
Once you reach space, the objective becomes even more ambitious. You must consume the celestial bodies in the Solar System one by one, with the Sun as the final target.
The creature forms you unlock along the way remain available, giving you a bestiary to build as you experiment with different feeding habits.
Why Grow Into the Sun Is So Fun
Grow Into the Sun combines simple controls with a surprisingly large sense of progression. The basic idea of eating smaller things is easy to understand, but the changing scale keeps introducing new environments, threats, and possibilities.
Your feeding choices also influence which of the 27 creature forms you discover, encouraging experimentation rather than following only one path. At the same time, surviving becomes more challenging as the world fills with creatures, vehicles, storms, soldiers, tanks, and enormous obstacles.
From a tiny creature in a roadside pond to a being capable of swallowing celestial bodies, Grow Into the Sun turns growth into a constantly changing adventure.
